Congrats to former SUNY Orange men's basketball player and coach Anthony Evans on his new job as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Fordham University Men's Basketball. Anthony started his coaching career as an assistant at SUNY Orange prior to becoming a head coach at Ulster Community College, Delhi College, Norfolk State University and Florida International University. As a player, Anthony is 4th on the SUNY Orange career scoring list with 1,182 points. At Nortfolk State, his team upset the #2 seed, Missouri, in the 2012 NCAA Tournament!

The SUNY Orange community was saddened to learn of the passing of alumnus, Charlie Cawein '52. Charlie was the first student to apply for admission to the College upon its founding in 1950. He was named the College’s first Athlete of the Year in 1951. He was also named captain of the College’s first soccer team in 1951. He remained an ardent supporter of the College over the years. He also delivered the 50th Anniversary Commencement address, on behalf of the College’s alumni, in May 2000. In 2012, he was a member of the inaugural class inducted into the Colt Athletic Hall of Fame
